New visitors’ center offers windows to past and futureA two-year vision for a visitors’ center at one of Laurel’s busiest entryways became a reality last Thursday with the opening of the center at 601 Leontyne Price Blvd., right off the Interstate 59 exit ramp.
The former apartment building has been transformed into a piece of art that highlights both Laurel’s past and its vision for the future.

A mother-of-two from Florida has been charged with murder after authorities say she strangled her one-year-old daughter with a string of Halloween lights and then blamed the baby's death on her two-year-old son.
Kristen DePasquale, 27, was arrested on Monday on counts of first-degree murder and child neglect with great bodily harm after investigators with the Oviedo Police Department said they found inconsistencies in her version of events.
At around 10pm last Thursday, police responded to DePasquale's home on Covington Street in Oviedo after getting a report of a child in cardiac arrest with something wrapped around her neck. Read More...
