Lauren Akins, who's married to country star Thomas Rhett, created a wonderfully warm and welcoming scene for autumnal entertaining. Ear of Corn:
A green T-shirt and green skirt or leggings offer the perfect base for this sweetly "corny" costume. Then, paint a paper egg carton yellow. Bundle and glue green felt around it to form “husks.” Sew onto shirt. Wrap a neutral-colored headband with raffia to create a corn silk topper. And you're done!

Apple Bushel:
Start with a peck bushel basket. Remove the bottom and add red ribbon suspenders. Now use small red balloons (with uninflated green water balloon ties) to fill the basket with “apples.” Top it with a red beret with a felt "stem" and "leaf."

You and the girls will have a devilishly good time come October 31st in these outfits, which can be almost entirely assembled with costume sets that include horns, tails, wings and pitchforks. Or, add a homemade element for DIY cred.

Horns: Cut out the shape of a devil's horn through a piece of red felt you've folded over once (you can make a template for the horn first on a piece of cardboard if you don't want to do it freehand). Sew or hot glue the horn closed except along the bottom. Turn it inside out and stuff the horn with polyester fiber fill or scraps of extra fabric. Sew or hot glue the bottom closed. Attach it with hot glue to a headband that matches the hair color of the little devil that will be wearing it.
